KARNAL: Dismissing the possibility of a caste-based census in the state,
Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the
BJP had never supported caste-based politics. "There is no demand for caste-based census in Haryana as we have already identified needy people in all sections of society. We are already working for their welfare and we have done this above caste census," said Khattar on the sidelines of the party's "Panna pramukhs sammelan" in Karnal.
He accused the
Congress of using the "three Cs" - corruption, crime and caste-based politics for power and said that the BJP worked on the agenda of "Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek." Addressing party workers, the CM said that over the past nine years, the state government had successfully achieved comprehensive development without any discrimination. He said that the state government had introduced over 100 web portals to offer online services and streamline distribution of government scheme benefits directly to the public. He highlighted the government's initiatives, such as issuance of online BPL ration cards to around 12.5 lakh individuals through Parivar Pehchan Patra (
PPP).
